I have thick coarse hair and want a rihanna type bob.

My hair is 26" (mid back) and mostly one length.

its an inverted bob it may help if you can bring a picture , but also you could tell the hairstylist you want an uplayer in the back and downlayer in the front :)

ok a bob is kinda wavy short and an undercut is long in the front and short in the back it looks really cute!

An undercut doesn't have to shaved. Undercutting can just mean that the layers below are shorter to allow the top to fall over and cup under. Or you can have a weight line with hair much shorter below the line. Go to a bookstore and look at photos. Find one you like and than take it to a beautician to get her opinion on what you should do.
