Can an inverted bob work for african american hair?

i want to get my hair cut cuz i'm sick of my thin shoulder length hair but i'm reluctant to do that because i can't afford to get it done pro weekly so i'd have to know how to maintain it. so my question is can an inverted bob work for african american hair and if so how is it maintained by means other than going to the salon?

It will definitely look good. I have a bob and I use motions sheen and lusters glosser for maintaning the look. I dont go to the salon often i say every three months if that. I wash my hair once a week (I put in a little wonder 8 oil) and let it hair dry cause blow drying i noticed makes my hair to fluffy and not straight and sleek. After hair drys I spray some motions sheen in it and straighten it with my tiny flat iron and my huge barrel curling iron. I like to curl it in a featherd way by curling the hair towards the back(as if you were going to do a spiral curl) instead of curling down. I do small touch ups during the week and spray some pink lusters glosser which works wonders!

absolutely! you just have to flat iron it. you should be able to style it yourself. there is no reason why you should need to go to the salon weekly for styling. shampoo and condition your hair in the shower, blow dry your hair (you don't really need to wrap it and go under the dryer) with your preferred product(s), and flat iron. voila! salon hair right in your own bathroom! :)
