I know it's "practical" and all,but it strikes me as "manish looking".What do you think it looks like?

You make a good point. I've yet to understand why some women do this; maybe they just "give up" on their appearance. I was with a lady who was 5 years older than me (45) and she had somewhat short hair, BUT it was spiked, almost punk rock type. She looked good, but not many women of her age and older do. It also depends on their facial structure; a woman with a square face may not look good with short hair, while a round faced woman may look attractive. I have to agree with the other poster, however, and say that long hair is very attractive and very sexy.

It's pretty awful. As far as practicality, hairbands have been invented. Some of the styles look more blokey than my hair.

I like short hair, long hair. Appearance doesn't mean as much to me as I grow older. I'm more into how easy they are to be with.

When you can't keep up with the Clairol treatments, cut it. I like long hair until it gets gray. Long gray hair makes a 'mature' woman look like a old hag.

I have always liked very long hair on women. Waist length is sexy to me, but I am not the one that has to wash all that hair so do understand why women tend to keep their hair shorter. Now why some choose the boy look is beyond me. I realize there is the 'Butch' look for lesbians and if that is what they want that is fine with me. It is just that when I see straight women with butches that I wonder if they swing both ways or just what is going on.
