I want to get it cut to about sholder length soon, and my hair always bobs when I cut it to that. Would straightening it help? (I'm getting alot of layers, a kind of "emo" haircut)

Have the stylist razor cut it so it won't have that straight scissor look when cut. The razor will enable you to have it cut shoulder length, straight and layered, windblown and messy, and cute. Straitening would be good, but at the same time, you have to be sure that you're conditioning your hair right. Straighteners burn your hair basically, so you can try always getting a conditioner that well moisturizes your hair. Nexus Conditioner would definatly work, or Moisture Manic by Bed Head, but deep condition.

straightening would definitely help, but it can be damaging to your hair, so i would pick up Silk Elements at your nearest beauty supply shop. it saves your hair from heat damage, and is in creamish colored bottle with a brown cap
