Yeah - they were dreadlocks, but you can also find references to them under 'dreadlocs' or just 'locs'. Locs take more care than you'd probably realize and depending on your hair, the "locking" process can take up to four months before the locs begin to mature. You can do some more research online, but I'd suggest finding a loctician if you want well-formed, even locs. You can just stop combing/brushing your hair as others have suggested, but that ususally gives you locs of all different sizes and does not look very neat. Also, if you end up with some larger locs from doing it that way, eventually the larger ones can get too heavy to be supported by the base of your hair and can break off (it would have to get pretty long and heavy though). Even sized locs are easier to maintain. Whether you decide to loc or not to loc, good luck!

Dreadlocks...mmm think about it. When you change your mind the only option is cut it ALL off..looks like it wouldn't be/smell clean...

Get it by washing hair, just don't comb/ brush to achieve sooner take small sections and roll between palms to tangle it...Again I say Think about it. Best of luck
